(From Mindy Kaling's book and her list of alternate titles again.)
I’ve never been much of a bright lip person though, I hate reapplying and I always think it looks completely unnatural on me. (Yes I know, it is unnatural, no one actually has lips that colour.) I’m also worried about standing out too much. I don’t want to blend in, but I don’t want to stand out TOO much, and yes, that is completely contradictory, it’s really quite a mess in my head.
But then I stopped by the MAC counter at the Bay on my lunch hour and what the hell, why not try a hot pink lip. It’s just lipstick, it washes off.
Before and after:
Club Monaco Haley Ls Tee in Smog // J.Crew gem stack necklace // MAC Patentpolish Lip Pencil in Hopelessly Devoted
It’s different. I’m not used to it. But I think I like it to add a pop of colour to black and grey, and maybe I’d like to try it again.
Club Monaco skirt // Wolford tights // Tory Burch Reva flats
It’s not even that bright a lip colour. It’s just way outside my comfort zone.
It looks SO GOOD! You have great lips! They are full and pretty. So lucky. And that color is stunning on you. Man, I am having serious lip envy! Your glasses are amazing! I love how your outfit showcases that beautiful necklace.

thanks! :) But don't envy my lips! They're usually always dry and chapped and I'm terribly addicted to lip balm...which is why I might always have dry and chapped lips...
DeleteI dig it! I have the same qualms about lip color. I have dipped my toe in the water using Sugar's tinted lip treatments. They have a subtle kiss of color, but the red still makes me nervous every time I wear it. I just have to remember that no one has studied my face as much as I have, and it probably doesn't look nearly as noticeable to everyone else. Like you, I want to dress and style myself to be seen, but I don't want to look like I have a clown mouth. lol I think you made a smart choice by wearing dark gray and black and giving the pop of color in your lips. I think it looks very cute and understated but that you were still trying to have a bit of fun with your lip color.

That's exactly it, I'm afraid of clown mouth! I think I might get used to it though...it is fun.
