My tastes have been moving away from Anthro recently so I haven’t been in a store (or on the website for that matter) in ages. I’m so out of the loop I didn’t even know that a new store opened in a converted church on Queen St West (a hipster area of Toronto) in December until I stumbled upon it while looking for the Kit & Ace store. Not a bad coincidence, since I had a Christmas gift card from Will in my pocket.
I didn’t buy anything (nothing caught my eye, so the gift card will keep), but the store is gorgeous and so Anthro it hurts.
On the inside, exposed brick with a view of the TD Canada Trust across the street.
This did catch my eye, but a tulle skirt is completely impractical for me.
Ooh, no fair! Yeesh, how many stores in TO now? Five?
ReplyDeleteI was tempted to venture out to the suburban anthro that opened here about a year ago but it's really not accessible by public transit (and probably deliriously stupid on a Friday afternoon when it's -20). My downtown store is pretty small. I find these days all the good stuff is online only anyway.
I always love the decor and smell- keeps me coming back regularly!
Those envelopes of grass are adorable!
Yep, five, if you count the Oakville one, which I've never been to because that's far. Only one location is convenient for me (walking distance from work), and it's not this one. :) Maybe you need to take a day off, get a zip car or autoshare and go out to the one in the burbs?
DeleteWow, swoon! What a great location! If I lived in T.O., I would totally just be window-shopping there all the time :)
ReplyDeleteI would too, but it's not the most convenient for me. I might make more of an effort to get out there for that store though. :)
DeleteOh! I want to go to an Anthropologie so badly! Thank you for those pictures! I love to look at the stores. That only sounds slightly creepy and stalkerish and not completely, right? I rarely get into a physical store, because I do not drive the freeway.
ReplyDeleteHey! I hope your new job is going great! I have been thinking of you!
Jenni
You're the sweetest ever, Jenni! My new job is going well. It hasn't really gotten going yet, but that's not a bad thing.
DeleteI love to walk around all stores and take pictures of them. It's great inspiration! I will try to take more pics just for you. :)
Beautiful! I love that we have three stores so close here in Nashville: one in a strip mall, one in a cute little downtown district a few towns over, and the accessory-only store in the mall. They're so fun to shop and get lost in. I have that tulle skirt that caught your eye, and it's impractical for me, too. But that never stops me. I think I'm taking your "Does it spark joy?" recommendation too literally. I should rephrase it to read something more like this: "Does is spark joy AND would you look sane wearing it in your everyday life?" This is giving me the itch to stop in and shop, but I've put myself on a shopping ban until...well...Kyle would say indefinitely. But no one listens to him.

I don't know...I don't think you have to wear something all the time to make it spark joy. That's why I kept a bunch of dresses I hardly ever wear during my cull. There's joy in having them. But with the tulle skirt, I didn't love it enough to just have it. So go with your gut. Maybe. :)
